The Senior Accountant – New Accounts will primarily be focused on integrating new businesses into the existing financial structure of the organization. This person will document the chart of accounts, item set-up, and other industry specific information for all new companies in varying industries ensuring that all are in line with existing policies and procedures. This position will act as primary Accountant for new companies until established when the expecation is for a junior Accountant can take over responsibilities with oversite by the Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities
– Do the initial documentation and analysis for the integration of new companies in varying industries into the existing portfolio of companies and financial procedures.
– Create a project plan for the implementation of tasks and achievement of goals for integration.
– Help create company database and act as primary accountant.
– Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
– Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
– Supervise existing staff as required in relation to their role in the integration.
– Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, cash flow, inventory reconciliation, budget, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.
– Document any existing financial procedures and a plan to integrate those procedures into the existing organization procedures.
– Train any existing financial staff in new accounts on organization policies and procedures.
– Enforcement of security controls in place including locking drawers, shutting down PC, and securing passwords.
– Keeping all pending and outstanding issues in order per company policies for electronic and physical files in case of absence.
– Provide monthly management reports.
– Assist management with special projects or requests.
– Make recommendations on improving efficiency.
– Develop and implement policies and best practices.
– Other duties as required.
